Kirsti Bennett

Kirsti Bennett, the owner of Studio K Dance Gallery, was born and raised in Camrose and started dancing at the age of 5. She studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theater, Hip Hop and Lyrical. She has studied the Al Gilbert tap syllabus, RAD and Vaganova Ballet. Kirsti is also Acrobatic Arts certified. Kirsti has had the opportunity to work with many different choreographers and instructors to enhance her dance expertise. She has worked with faculty and choreographers of Groove Street and Street Groove Productions, Blake McGrath, Alixa Sutton, The 605 Collective, the Northern Alberta Dance Association and Alberta Dance Educators Association. Kirsti has taught dance at a few different schools around Alberta and is requested for guest and summer school teaching.  She recently started adjudicating at festivals in central Alberta and loves sharing her passion, energy and enthusiasm for dance with dancers across the province. Kirsti shares her love of dance with her sister who teaches in central Alberta. They enjoy working together to give their dancers the best possible experience. They team up to operate successful dance festivals in central Alberta. Kirsti’s award winning, creative choreography has brought her awards across the province.  Kirsti has been teaching dance in Sundre for 13 years, making life long connections. She strives to create the heartfelt family atmosphere at SKDG, where all dancers are part of one big family.  Her students love her energy and passion for dance. She is thrilled to see all the dancers shine in life as well as in the classroom and on the stage!  

Starting her early dance training in Sundre with Sundre Community Dance, after 9 years Jessica left for the University of Calgary where she participated in dance classes from the University's dance program, the University of Calgary's Ballroom dance club, as well as Alberta DanceSport where she received 3rd place with her partner in the 2010 Calgary International Salsa Congress. Following her dance bug, Jessica moved to Vancouver where she trained and danced with Blue Egg Entertainment in Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz. Jessica later took her dance bug to Costa Rica where she opened a dance studio for 2 months and taught Ballet and Jazz classes to children of ages three to adult. Jessica continued her dance training in Edmonton, where she also obtained her BSc in Nutrition, received her formal status as a Registered Dietitian, and started her own company providing Dietetic services to dancers of all ages. Currently, Jessica trains with different forms of aerial apparatuses to increase her repertoire of dance knowledge. Jessica also instructs various dance and fitness classes in Red Deer, and takes every local performance opportunity that she can! Her dance experience includes Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Street Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Salsa styles. Her passion for dance shines through with all that she accomplishes, and she is thrilled to be back in her hometown to share her love and knowledge for dancing with the talented students at Studio K!

Jessica Eddy 

Dani Ganshirt​

Dani Ganshirt, has been dancing competitively for 20 years with training in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, modern, musical theatre and hip-hop. She has had the opportunity to work closely with many different instructors and choreographers including the Groove Street and Street Groove Faculty. Her well rounded training and fun, spunky, energetic attitude lead her to Vancouver to further her dance training. While in Vancouver she was also a part of Make Your Mark Dance Company where she participated in local performances. Dani has continued her education attending conferences, expos, and conventions. She is also Acrobatic Arts Level 1 certified. She is eager to share her knowledge and love for dance with all. Hip-hop is her strong suit, and she is very excited to be teaching it in her seventh season with SKDG!

Heather Hicks

Heather Hicks, our energetic Pre-school Instructor, has a wealth of experience working with kids as she has three beauties of her own. Heather ran a day home for several years, working with children of various ages. She has taken a courses on teaching pre-school classes and has a great line up of music, games and activities lined up for our mini dancers. This is Heather's eighth year teaching the pre-school classes for Studio K Dance Gallery. We look forward to having Heather work with our little ones as she always displays great energy, compassion and enthusiasm!


Antoinelle Leibel 

Antoinelle started dancing at the age of 6; training in Camrose, Alberta.  A competitive dancer, she is well trained in Jazz and Lyrical, both Vagonova and RAD Ballet, the Al Gilbert Tap Syllabus, has completed the Level 1 Acrobatic Arts Certificate Program. She has taught students of all ages & abilities at multiple studios in Central Alberta for over 15 years, receiving many top awards including Outstanding, Most Promising and Choreography Awards, as well as Overall Top Group Awards & Division Champions for her routines. Antoinelle has created her own distinct style of dance and her choreography is original and engaging. She worked with her instructor team to create and choreograph a show aboard Carnival Cruise Lines in 2013, and again to bring a fleet of dancers to perform in Disneyland in 2015. She has also worked with local gymnasts and equestrian vaulters by training and creating choreography for them, as well as judging gymnastic fun-meets. Antoinelle is a very enthusiastic teacher who strives to take a creative platform in her instructing by allowing her dancers to see, feel, and both physically and mentally understand their movements and motions while dancing. She has enjoyed the opportunity to work with and learn from many different choreographers & instructors; she stays current by attending conferences and conventions around Alberta & the US. Being sisters, Antoinelle & Kirsti regularly collaborate on ideas, music, costumes & choreography. Together, the two own & operate “Sparkle Dance Festival”- a passionate project for them both! 

Kim Pettie 

Born and raised in England, Kim received her foundational training through winning a scholarship to attend The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge at age 11. It was here that she performed in a multitude of performances at The Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) along with gaining Distinction in her vocational RAD Exam’s and training in the Cecchetti and Vaganova styles as well.

Kim completed her training at Central School Of Ballet where she was part of the Ballet Central Touring Company. Here she gained a diploma in classical ballet and performing arts.

Upon graduating Kim appeared as a dancer with Jean Ann Ryan Productions in various countries. In London, England Kim appeared as a dancer in commercials, TV, music videos and fashion shows for - T-Mobile, The BBC, E4, MTV, The World Cup in Dubai, The Prince Of Brunei, Hurts, Aveda, and Jones Bootmaker.

In May 2011, Kim was delighted to be asked to perform in a one off performance for the Queen at Buckingham Palace titled ‘ A Celebration of Young People In The Performing Arts.’ Kim has also performed for the Queen in a private contemporary dance performance for the opening of Southook LNG terminal.

Kim has taught at various prestigious Ballet and Performing Arts Schools internationally including The Kensington Ballet school, Regal Ballet school, The Rona Hart School Of dance, Perform Art Studios, Dance Collective and Danzmode Productions.

Kim, with her husband and three young sons, is back in Sundre and is delighted to be a part of the SKDG family for her 3rd season! 

Nicky Shute​

Nicky Shute, from Sundre Alberta, was involved with Sundre Gymnastics for 8 years. Here she competed in group gymnastics, attending Gym Fest every year. Through her experience with Sundre Gymnastics, Nicky earned her CanGym level 1 to 7 certification. She also received the Athlete of the month award from the Alberta Gymnastics Federation. Nicky jumped in to SKDG and embraced the roll as our Acro instructor. She is Acrobatic Arts certified and follows the program for the success of students acro develpment. Nicky has also attended other acro workshops in Alberta where she continues to broaden her knowledge of Acro. Her favorite memory of gymnastics was definitely hanging out with her friends and doing different tumble lines. Nicky is looking forward to being an instructor for the 8th season with Studio K Dance Gallery!

Brooke Smith 

Brooke is a senior dancer with SKDG. She is funky with a lotta soul! Brooke has been dancing for over 10 years taking jazz, hip hop and contemporary! She enjoys the intricate choreography her classes offer. Brooke has been an assistant for SKDG for 7 years, it was only fitting to have her teach her own class. Her passion and positivity will bring energy and enthusiasm to the kids. Brooke is thrilled to be sharing her love of hip hop with the Beginner/Novice Hip Hop class!

Morrissa van Vlannderen

Morrissa Van Vlanderren, is a senior dancer with SKDG. Dancing for 13 years, taking tap for all of them, she is our resident tappin' superstar! She is trained into the advanced levels of the Al Gilbert tap syllabus and brings a wealth of passion, energy and enthusiasm to the class not only as a dancer, but also an assistant instructor and instructor. Morrissa has won many awards for her tapping skills in both her groups as well as solos. She is very excited to be teaching the Beginner Tap class this season to share her knowledge and love of tap!
